11 Facts about Fetty Wap You Never Knew

1) How’d that happen to his eye?

Fetty Wap had Glaucoma when he was six months old. He was supposed to be blind in both eyes, but the doctor managed to save both. However, only recently did he make the decision to remove the eye. Feddy explained, “I was 19 and didn’t care anymore. Everyone in my city already knew. I got more comfortable.”

Inspired by the young rapper, Burgos is seen bravely smiling without his prosthetic eye in.

In response to her son’s courageous decision to remove his prosthetic eye, Burgos’ mom Brenda Vaden wrote an emotional Facebook post, “He has always been terrified of taking it out and would not be caught without it … and then comes along Fetty Wap,” she wrote. “Today, after weeks of asking, Jayden is venturing the world without his prosthetic. I of course am a wreck because this world can be cruel, but so proud.” To this, Fetty Wap personally replied, “I’m glad that I was able to give him the courage to take out his prosthesis. I know how it feels to be picked on. I’ve been talked about my whole entire life. The only difference now is they’re saying good things about the guy with one eye. I’m proud of Jayden, and I appreciate him more than he may know.”
